Return to Top comment: Sorry, the libelous post would be the 6/24 post by Press Pass [Comment posted 2008-08-30 01:04:34] not the most recent post. Apologies. Return to Top comment: parallels? by Press Pass [Comment posted 2008-08-30 01:03:31] The previous comment is clearly libelous. There are no parallels between the two stories. No plagiarism is ever asserted nor has been asserted against the U.S. professor. This comment is a plant to get the link into the comments of The Scientist so that the Scientific American story would receive a higher Google score. This post should be removed as abusive and libelous. Return to Top comment: A victory for Scientology? by anonymous poster [Comment posted 2008-06-26 07:42:03] It is not quite clear from the media coverage whether he simply forgot to cite references appropriately or whether he really intended to pass off other people's work as his own.
What is really sad about this case that this is a signficant victory for scientology, an institution that has a longstanding problem with psychiatry and science and is willing to do anything to justify its ends. The real danger here is that scientology might have found a way of shaming and blaming scientists to intimidate the whole scientific community. Return to Top comment: unethical ethicist? by anonymous poster [Comment posted 2008-06-24 02:43:35] There appear to be parallels with this case in the USA, involving an unethical ethicist.
