Jobs at MedImmune
[Entry posted at 5th June 2008 07:49 PM GMT]

In a world where most companies seem to be cutting jobs, one company is looking to up their ranks by 25%.

MedImmune announced today that they are looking to fill more than 800 positions in research and development and the clinic.

AstraZeneca acquired MedImmune in 2007, and since then the latter company is doubling their pipeline in order to represent a quarter of Astra's projects.

The recent acquisition may be a boon to MedImmune employees: AstraZeneca ranked at number two of best large companies to work for in our annual Best Places to Work: Industry survey.

Since the late 1970s, when Astra-Z was ICI-Pharma,
I had interacted with the company. I am very pleased to hear of their continued success; their decision to expand their R&D division and to recruit more skilled scientists. I have always been impressed by the straight forward, no-nonsense, honest approach of their project leaders and division leaders I have come in contact with during the time I was at Tufts University. Some of their best ones have retired now but their legacy and examples continue. Well done Astra! Keep up your good work!
